Responsibilities:
In this position, reporting to the Director of Engineering Services, the Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Designing, documenting, and creating customized technical solutions to meet customer software requirements and specifications to include:
Data Migrations involving conversion of data from various database sources (DBASE, Oracle, SQL Server, FoxPro, Paradox, ACT, Microsoft Access, Outlook) into Bullhorn SQL Server databases
Data mappings and transformations between Client’s data and Bullhorn system by constructing and executing SSIS/DTS packages.
Working closely with customers and larger Professional Services team to ensure comprehensive and accurate transfer of information
Work closely with the Team Lead of Data Engineering to establish SSIS/DTS frameworks and best practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field is required
Must have strong knowledge and experience using relational databases
Must have at least 10 years of SQL experience, including proficiency with complex and nested queries
Experience with MS SQL Server Enterprise Manager/Management Studio tools (SSIS, DTS, SSRS, SQL Tuning) is required
Must have the ability to follow a project plan and be accountable to assigned tasks
Object-oriented programming experience (C#, .NET, Java) is desired
Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals at all organizational levels
Must have effective listening skills
Must have professional customer service orientation skills
Must have the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
Must have prior experience in a client-facing role
